finish what you started

When I was 16, part of our cross training as swimmers was to compete in triathlons. If you know me, I hate running. From the start, I knew I wasn’t going to win (running is last so everyone will pass me 😉).

What you don’t see in this picture is my bloody leg from hitting the ONE rock in the middle of the road (yes there was only one). I flew over my handlebars and scraped up my whole leg. Like most athletes, I got up and kept going. I don’t even remember what place I finished in. But that didn’t matter. I finished.

💪🏽When it comes to anything we do in life, go all in. When you hit a rock and it takes you down, get back up and finish.

💪🏽It doesn’t matter where you finish. No medals or acknowledgment needed. Give it your best and finish what you started.

👍🏽Don’t take that rock personally. A challenge isn’t personal. It’s an opportunity for improvement rather than a condemnation of your character.

☀️Rise above your default thinking that something happens TO you.

☀️What matters most is learning to be your best when you’re at your worst.

☀️Make waves 🌊 within yourself and refrain from seeing a challenge, negative feedback or a roadblock as a reflection of you. Most of the time it isn’t.
